AMAZING PAPER CRAFT PRINTABLES

Canonhas gone all out to produce the most impressive collection of paper craft printables I've ever seen. Your students will absolutely love them.

The premise is simple:  First, you select from one of the categories such as art, architecture, transport, fantasy or my personal favourite craftown that allows you to print out templates for items to make an entire paper city.

Next, print out the template and instructions.

Then, Construct.  Some are very simple and others are quite complex but each one is rated for difficulty so you can decide what to to attempt and leave out.

Finally - You could work these into an art lesson, a maths lesson about 2D and 3D shapes, or even use them as props in a digital animation.  You are only limited by your imagination.

Please take a look atCanon's Paper Craftstoday as it won't disappoint and best of all it's free.

DISCOVER THE MASTERPIECES OF THE WORLD WITH 'GOOGLE ART PROJECT."

Google Art Project is an online platform through which the public can access high-resolution images of artworks housed in the initiative’s partner museums. The project was launched in 2011, in cooperation with 17 international museums, including the Tate GalleryLondon; the Metropolitan Museum of ArtNew York City; and the UffiziFlorence.

The platform enables students to virtually tour partner museums’ galleries, explore physical and contextual information provided about artworks, and compile their own virtual collection. The "walk-through" feature of the project uses Google's Street View technology. The virtual images of artworks were reproduced at extremely high quality, and each partner museum selected one artwork to be captured as a Gigapixel image (with over 1 billion pixels).

With great resources foreducatorsthere is literally no limit to what can be done with this in the classroom.

Google art Project will never substitute a trip to the Louvre in Paris but it certainly will make you far more appreciative and understanding of what is in front of you if you are lucky enough to get there in person.

Below is a video that  critiques a famous painting from the 1870's that you could use with students in your history, literacy or art class to great use.

New Garageband Killer uJam is the best web app of 2011

Ujamis without a doubt the best free app I have seen pop on the web in the last 12 - 18 months and it is a really fresh and unique piece of software that is going to blow your students minds.  Essentially uJam let's anyone create a professional piece of music in minutes by simply singing.  No instruments required. ( You must see the video below to believe it.)

Next, the user can edit the style of their music. There are many to choose from and each allows the user to produce something that sounds exactly the way they want it to. After polishing their personal music creation, the user can share it with others. It can be sent privately to a select group of friends or family members or shared with a larger group of fans.

It has some big names behind it including Han's Zimmer and Pharrell and is currently totally free but I get the feeling that may not last.  You really need to take a look at the videos below to get an idea of how this amazing app works but I can definitely see this up there with facebook and myspace as internet phenomoenons for teenagers and aspiring stars by the end of the year.

Just about everything Ujam can do is unique. The application guides musicians of all levels to building their own music. Style settings allow users to produce a piece they can be proud of and would want to listen to.

Check it outhere.

I'd love to hear your songs and thoughts on uJam
